Women first, men third in home doubles event

ALBION – Hosting their fall doubles event, the Albion College men's and women's tennis teams excelled on the courts. The women's team won the event, while the men's squad took third.

Leading the way was the team of Jaymee Herrington and Abbie Hubbard. On the day, the duo went undefeated with a 4-0 record. Albion saw two teams with 3-1 records – Rosy Zuun and Josie Dunn, along with the all-freshman team of Molly Dunn and Karina Nigg.

Turning in a 2-2 record was Savannah McDonald and Keiley Black.

Competing in the draw with the top doubles teams in the event, the Britons fared well. Josh Doyle and Jacob Doyle put together an overall record of 4-2 on the day, earning two hard-fought 8-5 wins in the process. Also in that draw was the senior-freshman tandem of Drake Malcolm and Peyton Bell. The two went 2-4 in the draw.

In the other draw, Brendan Morrison and Jacob Kubiak finished with a record of 3-3 for the Brits. Sophomores Brandon Blake and Gabe Peraino went 1-5.

The Britons will compete at Spring Arbor on Oct. 4.
