Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer throttles Hornets

ALBION – In front of a packed crowd, the Albion College women's soccer team put on a show, dominating Kalamazoo College in a 4-0 victory. Four different players netted goals in the game – three coming from freshmen.

It took just 69 seconds for the hosts to get on the board, as Claire Gorno's initial shot was saved, but the rebound bounced right to Kelsi Green who one-touched it for her first collegiate goal. Albion doubled its lead in the 13th minute, when Gorno scored off a pass from Hailee Campbell, helping the Brits take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Britons continued to pressure Kalamazoo in the second half, as Gorno tallied her second assist of the evening when she found Ella Jeske. Albion capped off the scoring on a set piece. Bella Fabrizio's corner found Green, who flicked it to Ceci Irwin for the score. The goal was Irwin's third of the year.

Albion outshot the Hornets, 18-10. The Britons also had a slight edge on corners, having six to Kalamazoo's four.

In goal, Micaela Hohlbein earned the clean sheet, making a pair of saves in the match.

Albion travels to No. 19 ranked Calvin University on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in Grand Rapids.
