Men's soccer falls in conference opener

ALBION — Despite an early 1-0 lead, the Albion College men's soccer team dropped its MIAA opener, 3-1 to Trine University. 

Albion's goal came courtesy of Jasek Zielaskowski — his first of the season. Zielaskowski's goal came in the 18th minute off a pass from freshman Pablo Catura Rubio. 

An own goal later in the first half evened the game at 1-1 through 45 minutes. 

The Thunder netted the game-winner in the 77th minute to take a 2-1 lead. In the waning minutes, the visitors capitalized on a penalty kick to seal the win. 

On Saturday, the Britons head to Alma for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
