Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

MLAX upended by No. 19 Denison

ALBION – Despite hanging with the No. 19 team in the nation, the Albion College men's lacrosse team fell to Denison University, 14-11. The Big Red used a late run just before halftime to steal the momentum and hold a lead the Brits would not be able to overcome. 

Senior Brock Yabs led the way with four goals and one assists, tallying a team-best five points. Sophomore Cal Stearns contributed a hat trick, while Marcus Haynis scored twice and dished out an assist for the Brits.

At the end of the first period, the Britons held a slim 5-4 lead thanks to a pair of goals from Yabs. With the score knotted at eight, the Big Red went on a 4-0 run over the last four minutes of the first half to take a 12-8 lead into the break. 

Haynie and Parker McFarlane each finished with three caused turnovers, while Andrew Miller picked up four ground balls in the loss. 

Goalie Bradley Luketic tallied 16 saves. Denison held a slight edge in shots, 52-44. As a team, the Brits were 13 for 20 on the clear. Albion also struggled on EMOs, capitalizing on just 2 of 10. 

On Wednesday, the Brits head to Kenyon College for a 3:30 p.m. matchup.
