Haynie scores twice in loss to RV Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio – Falling behind early, the deficit was too much to overcome as the Albion College men's lacrosse team fell to RV Kenyon College, 16-6. 

After the first quarter, the Owls had broken out to a steady 8-0 lead. The cold weather and long ride hindered the Britons, only scoring twice before the end of the first half. Albion's first goal came from Andrew Miller before Marcus Haynie scored his first of two goals on the day. At halftime, Kenyon held a 12-2 advantage. 

Albion's lone goal of the third quarter came from Ethan Rottell off a feed from Miller. In the fourth, the Britons received goals from Haynie, Brock Yabs and Cal Stearns. Junior defenseman Will Tessin tacked on an assist as well for the visitors. 

Jackson Taylor caused a career-high three turnovers. 

Kenyon held the edge in shots and at the faceoff X. As a team, the Brits were 20-22 on the clear. 

The Britons head to Elmhurst College this weekend to start off their spring break trip on Saturday. First faceoff against the Blue Jays is set for 2 p.m. EST.
