Rottell scores five as MLAX falls to Elmhurst

ELMHURST, Ill. – A dynamic fourth quarter rally came up short for the Albion College men's lacrosse team fell to Elmhurst College, 17-12. In the final 15 minutes, the Britons outscored the Blue Jays, 6-0.

Senior attacker Ethan Rottell led Albion with five goals and one assist on the day. He has now reached over 100 career goals in his time at Albion. Marcus Haynie netted a hat trick and added an assist as well. 

Elmhurst led 10-4 at halftime, before going on a 3-0 run to start the new half to create significant distance from the Brits. By the time Albions rally had begun, the deficit was too large with not enough time on the clock. 

Defensemen Will Tessin and Logan Bride led the Britons with a pair of caused turnovers each. The Blue Jays held the edge in shots, 52-39. 

On the clear, Albion was 22 of 26. 

On Tuesday, the Britons will play St. John Fisher on neutral turf. The contest will be held at Rhodes College at 1 p.m. CST.
