ADA, Ohio – A feverish comeback came up just short for the Albion College women's lacrosse team, dropping a 16-13 decision to Ohio Northern University. Despite ONU holding all the momentum early on, the visitors settled into striking distance for the final period.
Lead the offense for Albion was
Aaliyah Eudabe with four goals and one assist.
Kyndall Lewis added a hat trick and an assist.
Audrey DeWaters controlled a team-high six draws while scoring two goals.
After 15 minutes of action, the Polar Bears held a 9-0 lead over the Britons. ONU tallied the first goal of the second period before Albion got on the board with a strike from Lewis.
Logan Hutchinson followed with a man-up goal, before ONU made it 11-2. Undaunted, the Britons fired off four straight goals to end the second and begin the third, thanks to four different scorers. In that stretch, DeWaters, Eudabe, Lewis and
Kellie Flynn all scored.
The two teams traded a pair of goals, as Albion received its goals from juniors Lewis and Eudabe. Albion answered an ONU goal with two more before the end of the third, bringing the score to 14-10 heading into the final 15 minutes.
On Saturday, the Brits welcome Mount St. Joseph University for a 4 p.m. game – following an Albion men's lacrosse contest.
