Baseball drops road contest

OLIVET, Mich. – Twelve free passes allowed by the pitching staff hurt the Albion College baseball team in a 13-3 loss to The University of Olivet. 

Albion's first run came in the top of the third inning when Evan Schuster doubled to left center and stole third. The steal was huge as Ryker Mazey lifted a sac fly, driving in Schuster for a 1-0 Albion lead. Olivet scored six straight runs before the Britons briefly halted the momentum in the seventh. 

Jack Lasceski led off the frame with a walk and advanced to second when Carson Dunn smacked a single through the left side. With two away, Matt McGann extended the inning by drawing a walk. Team RBI leader Kris Stojanovski crushed a two-run double to the gap in left center, driving in a pair to cut the deficit to three runs. 

In the bottom of the seventh, the Comets scored seven runs off three hits and one error, aided by four walks and a HBP. 

On Friday, the Brits head to Trine for a 4 p.m. single game.
