Football to welcome back 1994 National Championship team on Saturday

ALBION – 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the Albion College Football Team's National Championship. This Saturday when the Britons host Bluffton, Albion will celebrate the team with an anniversary celebration at halftime.

On Dec. 10, 1994, the Britons defeated Washington & Jefferson by a final score of 38-15 in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia. To this day, the Brits are still the only MIAA team to win a football National Championship, an accomplishment that followed Albion's sixth consecutive conference title under head coach Pete Schmidt.

Albion outscored its opponents 220-45 in league play, cruising to the MIAA title. En route to the National Championship, the Britons knocked off Augustana, Mount Union and Saint John's before W&J in the title game.

Albion invites you to learn more about the team this weekend and celebrate this incredible milestone with a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday.
