Irwin scores in Illinois finale

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — A halftime lead slipped away from the Albion College women's soccer team, dropping a 2-1 decision to Greenville University. 

Freshman Ceci Irwin netted her second goal of the season late in the first half, helping the Britons claim a 1-0 lead after one half. 

Early in the second half, Greenville knotted the game at one goal apiece. The backbreaker came in the 79th minute, when the Panthers connected on the go-ahead goal. 

Sophomore keeper Micaela Hohlbein tallied eight saves for the Brits. 

Albion heads to Ohio Northern on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game.
