Stavros scores on the road

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Despite controlling the tempo for most of the game, the Albion College men's soccer team dropped a tough 2-1 contest to Manchester University. 

The Britons outshot Manchester, 20-2 in the game, but could not capitalize on their scoring opportunities. Additionally, Albion had 10 corners compared to zero by the hosts. 

Early on, the Spartans scored within the first 10 minutes to hold a 1-0 lead at halftime. Just two minutes out of the half Brayden Stavros netted the equalizer on a penalty kick goal. In the 60th minute, Manchester scored to take a 2-1 advantage and the Brits could not find the back of the net. 

Albion will be in action on Oct. 2 when they host Great Lakes Christian College for a 7 p.m. start.
