Football suffers first loss at MSJ

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Taking on one of the best teams in the HCAC, the story was all Mount Saint Joseph, as they knocked off the Albion College football team 49-14.

The story was all MSJ in the first half, with the hosts taking a 28-0 lead into the locker room. Albion's first score came late in the first half when Nevin Dent pummeled his way into the end zone on a 2-yard run.

In the fourth, Luke Lovell connected with Aiden Adams for a 39-yard score, but by then the Lions had taken a commanding lead over the Britons.

Lovell was 16 of 26 for 193 yards. Cameron Moore led the Albion receiving corps with four receptions for 67 yards. Adam Mills's nine tackles led the defense. Both Jackson Taylor and Ryan Deibis recorded career days with eight tackles apiece.

Next Saturday, Albion kicks off MIAA action with a 1 p.m. contest at Trine University.
