Heartbreaking home opener for men's soccer

ALBION – A heartbreaking goal in the 85th minute proved to be the difference in the Albion College men's soccer team's 1-0 loss to North Central College. The goal came off a rebound following a free kick awarded to the Cardinals. 

The Britons battled for a majority of the match with a very tough NCC squad. The visitors held a sizable edge in shots (15-3) and corners (6-0), controlling the tempo of the game. 

Freshman goalkeeper Tom Veresh was solid in goal, making six saves in the match. 

Albion will be idle until Sep. 18 when the team heads to Manchester for a 7 p.m. game.
