ALBION, Mich. -- The Albion football team lost 62-0 against nationally-ranked Hope at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
The Flying Dutch controlled the game from the first play, as they intercepted a
Davis Crossman pass to open the contest and led to a one-yard touchdown to start the scoring.
Hope added two more touchdowns to make it 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The score was 34-0 at the half, and the Flying Dutch tacked on 28 more points in the second half, including 21 in the fourth quarter.
Hope had 35 first downs compared to Albion's nine and outrushed the Britons, 306-13. They also outgained Albion, 665-81, and recorded five interceptions defensively.
Adam Mills and
Ryan Deibis shared the team lead in tackles with nine. Deibis and
Isaac Rehberg each had a strip-sack that led to turnovers as well.
