Women's wrestling goes undefeated at Tiffin Duals

TIFFIN, Ohio – Perfect.

Turning in a spotless 4-0 record, the Albion College women's wrestling team dominated the Tiffin Duals on Saturday. Albion knocked off a pair of MIAA opponents and two OAC foes on the day.

Albion 32 Adrian 17

As the two teams traded forfeits and falls over the first four bouts, Albion and Adrian were tied at 10 heading into the 131 matchup. Junior Hannah Arledge earned a 12-1 tech fall to give Albion four points. Following at 138, Jayla Oberst picked up a crucial three points in a 6-1 decision.

Freshman Keaton Hood needed just 30 seconds to pin her opponent at 145 before Brynn Green followed suit with a 21 second fall of her own. Albion's third fall came from Abbie Miles at 180 in 1:11.

Albion 26 Alma 20

Starting off the match with a fall, Gabby Motz earned a pin in 1:02 at 103. Lynsey Light added four more points for the Britons with a 12-1 tech fall in the 110 bout. Tied at 9-9 through the 124, Arledge once again righted the ship with a pin in 3:51 for five big Brit points. Oberst followed with another Albion fall (4:22) for a 19-9 Albion lead, which they'd maintain.

Albion 38 Mount Union 4

Light, Abigail Gearin and Arledge record three straight tech falls for 12 total points for Albion. Finishing off the rout of the Purple Raiders, Albion won the final four bouts via the fall. Hood (1:34) and Green (:48) took the wins at 145 and 160, while Maddie Hazeltine (:33) and Miles (:52) won at 180 at 207.

Albion 34 Otterbein 16

Motz started the final matchup with a tech fall at 103. At 131, Arledge added five points to the Brits with another pin for the junior. The rest of Albion's wins came via the forfeit.

Next weekend, Albion heads to the DIII National Invitational in Illinois.
