Illinois Wesleyan drops MLAX

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – On the road against a good opponent, the Albion College men's lacrosse team came up short in a 13-10 loss to Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans went on a 6-0 run to end the first quarter and span into the second to create distance.

Senior Brendan Mercier led the Brits with four goals and one assist. Fellow senior Andrew Miller scored once and tallied three assists in the loss. Fabrizio Raciti and Logan Bride led the team, causing three turnovers each. 

Albion committed 24 turnovers in the contest and was just 10 of 27 from the faceoff X. Illinois Wesleyan also held the edge in shots, ground balls and EMO percentage. 

Sophomore Caleb Howell made 17 saves in goal in 52 minutes. Jack Erickson recorded a pair of saves in eight minutes of work.

Albion's road stretch continues on Thursday at Transylvania. First faceoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
