Late comeback falls short for MLAX

ALBION – Holding tough with one of the region's finest, the Albion College men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-9 decision to Ohio Wesleyan University. OWU held a slight 4-0 lead through one and was able to keep the lead the entire game. 

Senior Andrew Miller's three goals led the Albion offense, while Cal Stearns and Brendan Mercier each finished with a pair of goals and an assist.

Freshman Connor Laidlaw picked up four ground balls for the Brits. Fellow freshman Carter Kildea caused a team-high three turnovers. 

Both teams were incredibly efficient on the clear, with OWU converting 20 of 23 clears and the Britons converting 20 of 25. OWU held the edge in shots, ground balls and faceoffs won. 

Caleb Howell made eight saves in net while Jack Erickson recorded four. 

Albion will play North Central College on Saturday, hosted by Calvin. Face off time is set for 2:30 p.m.
