WLAX wins on Senior Day

ALBION – On Senior Day, the Albion College women's lacrosse team stayed tough in an 11-10 win over Kalamazoo College. Nicole Miller was tremendous in goal, making big save after big save, including one in the final minute to preserve the lead.

Miller recorded 15 saves in the win, helping the Brits improve to 2-2 in the MIAA. 

Senior Kellie Flynn led the way with three goals and one assist. Anna Huard added a hat trick as well in the contest. 

Albion broke out to a 5-2 lead after one period and held a slim 8-6 lead by halftime. Kalamazoo continued to battle back, tying the game at 9-9 heading into the final quarter. With 11:06 remaining, Julia Ames found Flynn in transition, netting the go-ahead go – man-down – for a 10-9 advantage. Ellen Chown rifled a free position shot with just under five minutes remaining for an insurance goal and a two-goal lead. 

Aaliyah Eudabe led the way with six draw controls. Both Darby Conerly and Natalie Sweetland finished with two caused turnovers. 

Albion was 22 of 25 on the clear.

Before the game, Albion celebrated its senior class, consisting of Natalie Sweetland, Kyndall Lewis, McKenna Shearer, Jana Rajab, Kellie Flynn, Julia Ames and Aaliyah Eudabe

At halftime, the Britons recognized the 2015 MIAA Tournament Championship team for its 10 year anniversary. 

Albion will host Adrian on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. start time.
