Huard nets four at Hope

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Aided by a seven goal fourth quarter and a big defensive stop, the Albion College men's lacrosse team picked up a 15-14 win at Calvin University. 

Senior Andrew Miller recorded six points, scoring four goals and dishing out a pair of assists in the win. Fellow senior Robbie Dameron added four goals for the Brits. In goal, sophomore Caleb Howell ended with 19 saves to earn the win. 

The teams traded blows throughout the first half, seeing the Britons hold a 5-1 lead but Calvin storming back to cut the lead to one goal. A goal late in the first half from Miller had Albion take a 6-4 lead into halftime. 

Clinging to a one goal lead heading into the final quarter, Albion scored four straight, courtesy of four different players (Keegan Pastor, Luke Schuemann, Dameron and Ethan Barker) for a 15-10 advantage. The Knights once again responded, scoring four times to cut the deficit to one goal in the final minute. 

Howell had a massive save with 44 seconds remaining to preserve the lead and secure the win. 

Defensively, Logan Bride caused six turnovers and Will Tessin caused three. Bride also led the Britons with seven ground balls. 

Albion will conclude the regular season on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. start against Adrian. The Britons will play for a first round bye in the upcoming MIAA Tournament.
