Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's lacrosse wraps up regular season with win

ALBION – Aaliyah Eudabe and Julia Ames had monster games in their Alumni Field farewells, seeing the Albion College women's lacrosse team defeat Alma College, 19-11. With the win, the Britons have secured a spot in the upcoming MIAA Tournament, beginning on Saturday.

Eudabe led all players, scoring five goals and dishing out four assists. The nine points is a new single-game record for the senior. Ames also set a career-high with 16 draw controls, setting a new Albion single-game record.

An early lead by the Brits was answered by a small run by the Scots. Eudabe scored back to back man-down goals, vaulting Albion ahead 14-7 with 10 minutes remaining. From there, the Brits held control of the game, creating a lead too large for Alma to overcome.

Anna Huard added three goals and two assists for Albion. Logan Hutchinson and Kellie Flynn also recorded hat tricks, with Flynn tacking on one assist.

Senior Natalie Sweetland set a career-high, picking up seven ground balls. She was one of four Britons to cause two turnovers in the win.

Nicole Miller and Kyleigh Johnson combined for seven saves in goal.

The Brits were an efficient 16 of 19 on the clear, compared to a 17 of 32 mark by the Scots.

Albion has clinched a berth in the MIAA Tournament, beginning on Saturday. The Britons will be on the road, but a time, location and opponent will be determined after Wednesday's games.
