Women's Tennis earns MIAA win

ALBION – Highlighted by a terrific performance in third doubles, the Albion College women's tennis team picked up its first MIAA win of the season, 6-1 over The University of Olivet.

At first doubles, Abbie Hubbard and Savannah McDonald battled to a 6-4 win. After a tough loss for the Brits at second doubles, Lynsey Brearley and Karina Nigg put together a fabulous match, winning by a 7-6 (10-8) margin and sending the doubles point Albion's way.

In singles play, Hubbard picked up where she left off, winning 6-4, 6-3. Senior Josie Dunn secured a 6-3, 7-5 win at second singles, followed by Nigg's 6-2, 6-1 win at fourth singles. Rounding out singles action, the Britons got wins from Brearley (6-3, 6-2) and Molly Dunn (6-0, 6-0).

The Brits continue MIAA competition on Thursday when they travel to Alma for a 4 p.m. match.
