Albion, Mich. - The Albion Men's Soccer team picked up a 4-1 victory over the Golden Eagles of Cornerstone.
Christian Orpineda led the team with eight shots and
Ivan Murillo and
Khalil Camara each added three shots.
The Brits would come out looking to score and Camara would be the first to find the goal off the pass from
Robin Ruigendijk in the 11th minute. The Brits would continue their attack and force the Golden Eagles into an own goal in the 21st minute to take a 2-0 lead. The Golden Eagles would score their lone goal in te 28th minute after a deep chip up and over the Brits defense. The Brits would head into the half up 2-1. They would out shoot the Golden Eagles 7-1 in the opening period and have four corner kicks to the Eagles zero.
The Brits would continue their offensive pressure, scoring in the opening minute of the second half as Murillo would find the net thanks to the pass from Orpineda. The Brits would continue to keep pressure on the Eagles, out shooting them 13-2 in the second half. The Brits would score their final goal after a break away by Orpineda in the 88th minute. This would seal the Brits second straight victory.
The Brits return to action on Wednesday October 7th as they host the Flying Dutch of Hope at 7PM.
