Olivet, Mich. - The Albion College Volleyball team stays undefeated in conference after a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 15-8) victory over the Comets. The Brits return to the court on Saturday October 24th as they travel to Calvin at 5PM.
Carly Frank led the Brits with 10 kills, while
Carson Howard added seven and
Margaret Jones added five.
Paige Williamson added 15 digs and five aces.
Molly Edmunds had 22 assists while
Joelle Boeskool added 14. Williamson also surpassed 2000 career digs.
Set 1 | Albion 25 Olivet 20
The match would begin with a back and forth battle. The game would see seven ties to get the game to 10-10. The Brits would go on a 3-0 run with kills by Howard and Jones to take a 13-10 The Comets would look to battle back within one, however the Brits would hold their lead and go back up by three, 16-13. Teams would trade points before the Brits would go on a 3-0 run to take a 20-15 lead, their largest of the set. The Comets would go on a 3-0 run to close the gap to two, 20-18. The Brits would finish the set going on a 5-2 run, with
Bri Whitfield getting the set sealing kill. Despite winning the set, the Brits would hit a .333 compared to the Comets .345.
Set 2 | Albion 25 Olivet 19
The Brits would come out in set two with three straight kills, however the Comets would respond with a kill and two aces to take an early 4-3 lead. The Brits would respond with a 4-1 run to regain the lead 7-5. The set would see four ties before the set was tied 10-10. The Brits would get back-to-back kills to break the tie and take a 12-10 lead. The teams would trade points before the Brits would go on a 3-0 run to take a 17-13 lead after kills by
Emma Pagliarella and
Cameron Smith and an ace by Frank.The Comets would look to battle back, however the Brits would finish the set on a 7-3 run with Jones having the final kill of the set. The Brits hitting would improve and they would hit a .344 in the second set.
Set 3 | Albion 25 Olivet 8
The third set would start off similar to the others with a back and forth to tie the game 2-2. The Brits would then go on a 6-1 run to take an early 8-3 lead. The Comets would close the gap to three, however the Brits were ready to end the match. The Brits would go on a 12-1 run, with seven kills and an ace, to take a 20-6 lead. The Comets would look to get their offense going, however the Brits offense continued their attack. The Brits ended the set on a 5-0 run to take the set 25-8. THe Brits had just one hitting error in the set to hit a .560.

- Hitting a .402 as a team is the highest for the team this season
- With 10 aces, this is the fourth game the Brits have had 10+ aces this season
- With just two blocks, this ties the fewest of the season
- Paige Williamson surpassed 2000 career digs
- She had a season high five aces
- Camille Oxley recorded nine digs, the second most for her this season
- Joelle Boeskool tied her season high of two kills
- Cameron Smith recorded her first match of the season with no hitting errors (on five+ attempts)
- She also had a season high .556 hitting percentage
- Jillian Gibbs tied her season high of five kills
- Carson Howard recorded her second match of the season without a hitting error
- Carly Frank had her third 10+ kill game in a row
