Albion, Mich. - The Albion Women's Soccer team fell to the Flying Dutch, 0-2, to move to 1-1 in conference.
Diane Hurtado led the Brits with two shots and
Marleigh Chapman added four saves.
The Flying Dutch would come out with a high power offense and would find the goal in the 24th minute. The Brits would struggle to get their offense going in the first half, having just one shot to the Flying Dutch's eight.
The Brits would look to get their offense going in the second half and Hurtado would have a near goal in the top corner, however the Dutch were able to make an incredible save to keep their 1-0 lead. The Brits defense would stiffen and prove much harder to get through after the break, however a late handball in the box would give the Flying Dutch a penalty kick and they would take the lead 2-0 in the 80th minute. The Brits would battle till the final horn but would come up short and fall to 1-1 in conference.
The Brits return to the field on Saturday October 10th as they travel to take on Calvin at 1 PM
