LITTLE RIVER, S.C. — The Albion softball split their doubleheader on the final day of their spring trip, earning a dominant 8–0 win over Stevenson before falling to Scranton, 6–2. Albion finishes the trip with an overall record of 8–4.
Game 1 vs. Stevenson
The Britons opened the day with a dominant performance, securing an 8–0 victory over Stevenson in the first game of the doubleheader. Lilly Zaskowski was outstanding in the circle once again, allowing just three hits while recording eight strikeouts.
In the bottom of the second inning, Emma Schramm got the scoring started with an RBI single that brought in the first two runs of the game (2–0). The Britons kept the momentum going in the third when Lilly Zaskowski ripped a double to put herself in scoring position. Trantham followed with an RBI single, driving in Zaskowski to extend Albion's lead to 3–0.
Stevenson struggled defensively in the bottom of the fourth, and the Britons capitalized, erupting for an impressive five-run inning. The Albion softball team tallied ten hits and earned the shut out.
Game 2 vs. Scranton
After a sweep earlier in the day, the Britons could not capitalize on their second game of the day falling short 6-2.
The Britons struck first in the bottom of the second, scoring one run to take a 1–0 lead. Scranton responded in the top of the third with two runs to move ahead 2–1.
Albion evened the score in the bottom of the fourth when freshman Ryley Frank delivered a clutch RBI double, driving in Emma Schramm to tie the game at 2–2.
Scranton regained the lead with two runs in the fifth and added two more in the seventh. Albion was unable to respond offensively, and the game ended with a 6–2 Scranton victory.

Albion will return home next Saturday, March 21 for a doubleheader against John Carroll, with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and the second game set for 3:00 p.m.
