Box Score 2 ALBION- The Albion softball team opened its home schedule with a doubleheader, splitting the
day with a 2–1 win and a 7–8 loss.
Game 1 vs. John Carroll
A defensive showdown between the Britons and John Carroll stretched into extra innings, with
Albion ultimately securing a 2–1 victory in ten. Junior Lily Zaskowski was dominant in the
circle, recording 11 strikeouts.
John Carroll struck first, putting a run on the board in the opening inning. The Britons responded
quickly, matching the effort with a run of their own to even the score at 1–1.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the tenth. With
Jaden Henderson in scoring
position at second, Lily Zaskowski grounded to third, but a defensive error allowed Henderson to
cross the plate for the game-winning run.
Game 2 vs. John Carroll
Game two was an offensive battle, with both teams swinging hot bats. The Britons struck first,
scoring two in the bottom of the first on RBIs from
Lilly Zaskowski and
Allie Trantham. John
Carroll responded in the top of the second and third, manufacturing 6 runs, putting them up 6-2.
The game stayed quiet until the bottom of the sixth, when Albion's bats came alive. The Britons
put together a five-run inning to take a 7–6 lead, highlighted by a clutch three-RBI double from
Jessie Anstandig.
John Carroll answered with two runs in the top of the seventh to take an 7-8 lead. Albion was
unable to respond in the bottom half, and the Britons fell 7-8.

The Britons will return to action tomorrow for a doubleheader against Heidelberg, with games
scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
