ALBION, Mich. - The Albion men's baseball team soundly defeated Bluffton, 15-1, at Champions Stadium in their first game since the Florida spring trip.
Senior Daniel Bruzdewicz pitched a complete game on the mound, striking out 12 and allowing just five hits in the outing.
The Briton bats arrived quickly with a 10-run explosion in the first inning. Sophomore Carter Stahl kicked things off with a two-run double and later singled to bring in an additional run. Sophomores Logan DeVos, Jonjay Arreazola, and Jack Laporte each brought in two runs off hits. Tyler Murphy's RBI double capped the first-inning scoring.
In the second, Gavin White's single to left field added one more run for Albion.
Bluffton's lone run came in the fourth via a sacrifice fly, but the Britons responded in the bottom half; Laporte recorded another RBI with a sacrifice fly of his own. Albion added another run in the fifth with Murphy hitting his second double of the day.
Both offenses went quiet through the next few innings, but the Britons struck again in the eighth as Arreazola and Laporte each drove in additional runs to extend the lead.
As a team, the Britons out-hit Bluffton 20-5. It was a good day at the plate for Albion.

The Britons are right back on the field tomorrow, March 20, to begin a series against Grace Christian. The doubleheader begins at 1 P.M. at Champions Stadium.
