Softball Offense Dominates in Routs of Grace Christian

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Albion softball team delivered a dominant offensive performance, sweeping Grace Christian with commanding victories of 13–4 and 20–2. 

Game 1
The Britons had an explosive day at the plate. In game one, Albion racked up 13 hits, highlighted by Allie Trantham's grand slam in the top of the fifth inning. The team also delivered a clean defensive performance, finishing the game without committing a single error. 

Grace Christian struck first, taking a 2–0 lead in the opening inning. The Britons answered in the second, as Allie Trantham delivered an RBI double to score Lilly Zaskowski and cut the deficit to 2–1. 

Albion's offense came alive in the fourth and fifth innings. The Britons plated five runs in the fourth to take a 6–2 lead, then erupted for seven more in the fifth to extend the margin to 13–2. 

Grace Christian was unable to generate enough offense to respond, and Albion secured the run-rule victory in five innings.

Trantham posted five RBI, while Anstandig had three.

Game 2
Albion's offense stayed hot in game two, as the Britons once again dominated Grace Christian, cruising to a 20–2 run-rule victory in the fifth inning. Alaina Brown dominated in the circle, totaling for five strikeouts and only allowing one earned run. 

The Britons tallied 17 hits at the plate, led by Emma Schramm and Lilly Zaskowski with three each. 

Albion came out strong, scoring five runs in the first inning to take an early 5–0 lead. Grace Christian answered with two runs to make it 5–2, but the Britons quickly regained control. In the second inning, Albion erupted for six more runs, highlighted by Allie Trantham's second grand slam of the afternoon to push the lead to 10–2. Jaden Henderson added an RBI to extend the advantage to 11–2. 

The Britons continued their offensive surge, plating five runs in the fourth and adding one more in the fifth to secure a dominant run-rule victory. 

Trantham led the way once again with eight RBI, while Ryley Frank and Schramm had three each.

The Albion Britons will face Manchester on Sunday, March 29 on the road with first pitches scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
