Albion College has announced its upcoming football schedule and new tailgating/ticket procedures ahead of the 2026 season.
The Britons will kick off their 143
rd season at home on Saturday, September 5 against Illinois Wesleyan at noon. The teams will square off for the third time in their histories and first since 2014, when Albion head coach
Travis Rundle was an assistant at IWU. Their first meeting was in the first round of the NCAA playoffs in 1996 when Albion won the MIAA title in Pete Schmidt's final year as head coach.
Albion will follow their opener up against another CCIW opponent in Wheaton at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium. This will mark their 11
th all-time meeting and first since 2013. The Thunder ended the 2025 season ranked No. 7 in both the D3football.com and AFCA polls and appeared in the NCAA quarterfinal.
The Britons will complete their non-conference schedule by traveling to Terre Haute, Ind., to face Rose-Hulman for the fourth time in five seasons. Last year, Albion defeated the Fightin' Engineers, 25-17, at home.
On September 26, Albion will begin MIAA play by traveling to Holland to square off against Hope before facing Kalamazoo on homecoming the next week.
The Britons will then head on the road for two straight weeks, starting with a Thursday, October 15 game against Trine at 7 p.m., followed by a trip to Grand Rapids to face Calvin.
Albion will play Alma on Halloween and Adrian on November 7 each at home before closing the season out at Olivet on November 14.

FAQs:
If I buy the season pass for $100 how would I receive tickets?
We are assuming that people who purchase a $100 season pass would have a student-athlete on the team. Therefore, they would receive the student-athlete complimentary tickets through Hometown Ticketing. If anyone is not on the pass list through Hometown Ticketing, tickets can be purchased prior to arrival or prior to entering the tailgating lot.Â
When will tickets be available for purchase?
Tickets will be available prior to all games and available for purchase at the game. Entry into the tailgate lot requires a tailgate pass AND a ticket. Tickets will be scanned upon arrival to the tailgate lot.
What if I am walking into the tailgate?
You can park for free at a variety of locations on campus or around the area and you will just need to purchase a ticket at one of the ticket booths as you walk to the tailgate. Again, tickets can be purchased online prior to arrival or at one of our ticket booths. We highly encourage people to purchase their tickets online prior to arrival.
What if weather affects the tailgate lots?
There will be no refunds for lots closed due to inclement weather. We will communicate and do everything in our power to provide an alternate space to park in one of the paved lots. Â
When will passes be available for purchase?
Tailgate and tickets will be available on July 1, 2026.Â
If a season pass is purchased, how many vehicles can we have on the spot?
One tailgate pass allows one vehicle to park in the grass tailgate lot, east of the football field.Â
Can RV's park in the lot? Can RV's purchase a pass?
RV's are not allowed in the grass parking lot. Before purchasing a tailgating pass for your RV, please contact athletics@albion.edu.
Can purchased tickets be transferred to someone who is in our tailgate party but travels separately?
Yes, tickets can be emailed or shared via cellphone. The easiest way to do this is to screenshot tickets and text them.Â
Visiting Team Tailgating
Questions about visiting team tailgating can be emailed to athletics@albion.edu.
When will lots be open?
Lots will be open four hours prior to game time.
Are there reserved spots?
No, there are no reserved spots. Spots are first come first serve.Â
