ALBION, Mich. — The Albion softball team was swept by Adrian, 1-0 in Game 1, and 14-6 in Game 2.
Game 1
After a scoreless battle through six innings, the Bulldogs plated the game's only run in the seventh on a groundout.
Elaina Braunscheidel led off the home half of the frame with a single and later stole second with one out to get into scoring position. However, a fly out and pop out ended any threat for the Britons.
Albion had bases loaded in the second, a runner on third in the third and runners on second and third in the fifth as their true scoring chances but could not capitalize.
Braunscheidel recorded two of the Britons' four hits, while
Lilly Zaskowski pitched all seven innings and allowed five hits, three walks and struck out four batters.
Game 2
The Britons exploded in the first with three runs.
Sydney Schoenborn scored on a fielder's choice to plate the first run, followed up by a passed ball and
Cameron McDonald single.
Albion notched two more in the second on an
Allie Trantham single to take a 5-0 lead.
Adrian roared back in third with six runs to take the lead, but Zaskowski tied the game with an RBI double in the fourth.
The Bulldogs blew the game open in the fifth by getting two runs off an error, one off a single and four on a grand slam to take a 13-6 advantage.
Adrian plated one more in the sixth on a single to end the game with a run-rule eight-run lead.
Eight Britons recorded a hit, while all three Albion pitchers saw time in the circle.
