Softball Drops Two to Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. — The Albion softball team lost both games to Trine, 13-3 and 19-1, on the road.

Game 1
The reigning Division III national champion Thunder put the game's first two runs on the board with a homer in the second, but the Britons would tie the game in the third on an Emma Schramm two-run round tripper herself.

Trine plated all five of their runs in the third on home runs to take a 7-2 advantage. They tacked on another via a single in the fourth before Schramm notched a solo shot in the fifth for the Britons' final run.

The Thunder scored another run off a homer in the fifth, scored on a single in the sixth and posted a three-run shot to end the game in the frame.

Schramm joined Allie Trantham as the two Britons to notch multiple homers in games this season. Trantham also had two hits in the contest. Alaina Brown started in the circle, while Jaden Henderson pitched the final three innings.

Game 2
Trine scored two in the first before plating 16 runs in the second.

After a scoreless third frame, the Thunder tacked on their final run in the fourth. Albion scored in the fifth on a Layla Vallone single.

The Thunder notched 17 hits compared to Albion's four with nine walks as well. Brown was the starting pitcher, while Karissa Carlson, Henderson and Kaitlyn Ruselink also saw time in the circle. Carlson made her collegiate debut as well.
