ALMA, Mich. — For the first time since 2019, the Albion baseball team clinched a spot in the MIAA Tournament.
Needing a victory over a 25-win Scots team, the Britons got the job done and dominated Alma on the road, 14-0, in eight innings.
It was their first win over the Scots since 2022 and first shutout against Alma since 2012.
The Britons got on the board in the second on a sacrifice fly from
Drew Ribble.
Gavin White hit a two-run shot in the third, and
Jack LaPorte notched a two-run single in the fourth to make it 5-0.
It was more of the same in the fifth as Albion plated four runs in the frame.

Carter Stahl and notch the inning's first score. Then, Ribble roped a two-RBI double down the left field line, while

Albion did not stop there, as two more came in the sixth.
Max Holser joined the party with an RBI double, and
Tyler Murphy notched a sacrifice fly while Holser scored on a passed ball later in the frame to add to their 12-0 lead.
LaPorte and Schuster scored on a wild pitch in the seventh for the contest's final two runs.
Seven Britons notched their 13 hits as a team, led by Murphy who went 3-for-3 at the dish. Ribble posted three RBI, while LaPorte and White each had two.
