Chicago, Ill. - The Britons fall in the final minutes vs #20 University of Chicago.
The game opened in a defensive battle. The Britons struck first with a goal by
Ryan Anderson in the 30th minute. The Maroons would look to answer taking eight shots, however goalie
Tom Veresh would be there to stop the three on goal. The Britons entered the half leading, despite the shot count being just one to eight.
The second half would continue to be a defensive battle for the Britons. The Maroons would take 13 more shots before they would find the net in the 81st minute to tie the game 1-1. The Britons defense would attempt to withstand the attack of the Maroons, however in the 87th minute, Chicago would sneak another one past Veresh to take the lead 2-1 with just 2:30 remaining. The Britons would end up falling 2-1 to the #20 Maroons.
The Britons return to action on Wednesday September 16th at 5 PM as they host Cleary.
