2026-pre. Albion, Volunteer Assistant Coach
Aidan Brewer enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Albion in 2026.

Brewer arrives in Albion after an outstanding five-year collegiate baseball career at UNC-Greensboro (2024) and Hillsdale (2020-23).

As a graduate transfer with the Spartans, Brewer started in 50 games as the primary shortstop and finished second on the team with a .318 batting average and 67 hits. He also helped UNC-Greensboro to a SoCon regular season title that season while being named second-team All-SoCon by both the coaches and media. Additionally, Brewer was named to the Brooks Wallace Award watchlist — presented to the nation’s top college baseball shortstop.

After graduation, Brewer signed with the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball’s High Point Rockers — an MLB Partner League — where he played during the 2024 and 2025 seasons and appeared in 123 games.

Brewer transferred to UNC-Greensboro following a decorated four-year career at Hillsdale. He started 156 games for the Chargers throughout his career and batted .322 with 186 hits, 33 home runs, 132 RBI, 132 runs and 47 stolen bases. Brewer is top 10 in program history in the latter four statistics.

In 2022, Brewer had one of the greatest offensive seasons in Hillsdale history. He led the G-MAC in batting average (.435), hits (81) and on base percentage (.500) and was top 15 in Division II while becoming just the second player in program history to earn consensus NCAA Division II All-America honors as he was selected as a first-team All-American by the NCBWA and third-team All-American by the D2CCA. He also ranked in the top 10 for a single season in seven offensive categories and received unanimous first-team All-Midwest Region and first-team All-G-MAC honors.

As a shortstop, he helped account for 32 double plays — more than any Charger since 2007 — and led the team with 125 assists in the field. On the bags, he notched a team-leading 17 stolen bases while being named Team MVP.

In 2021, Brewer earned third-team All-G-MAC honors after batting .294 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI.

During his first two seasons at Hillsdale, Brewer played for head coach Eric Theisen — now lead hitting coach for the MLB’s Milwaukee Brewers — and Eric’s father, Gordie, who is now an assistant coach at Albion.

Brewer attended Greenhills School in Ann Arbor, Mich., where he was a four-year varsity baseball player and two-year team captain. In 2019, he earned first-team all-state and Ann Arbor News Dream Team honors after finishing the season with five home runs, five triples, eight doubles, 28 RBI, 41 runs and 32 stolen bases while representing the Gryphons in the Michigan All-Star Baseball Classic at Comerica Park that summer.

He also played hockey and was a first-team all-state selection in 2019 and honorable mention all-state honoree in 2018 after being a team captain both seasons.

The Dexter, Mich., native graduated from Hillsdale in 2023 with a bachelor’s in economics and from UNC-Greensboro in 2024 with a graduate certificate in urban and economic development.
