Johnson III takes over as the run game coordinator and offensive line coach after spending two seasons at the University of New England with the same title. In his stint with the Nor'easters, he mentored the CCC Offensive Lineman of the year and a D3Football.com All-Region selection. The year prior, he coached four All-CCC offensive linemen.Â
Prior to UNE, Johnson III was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at RPI. With RPI, he helped take the 2018 team to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Playoffs, coached two D3Football.com All-Region honorees and one AFCA All-American.Â
