Andy Lawrence joined the Albion College athletic department as head athletic trainer in July of 2013, and was promoted to Assistant AD for Athletic Training in 2021.
During the 2024-25 school year, Lawrence will oversee the Albion football, golf, swim and dive, and men's lacrosse programs.
A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, he worked as a student athletic trainer with Spartans men’s soccer, men’s basketball, football (spring), and cross country and track and field programs. Lawrence also completed an internship with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League and was a coordinator for Gatorade Summer Sport Camps at MSU.
He received his master’s degree in athletic training from Western Michigan University in 2010. While obtaining his degree, he was a graduate assistant and head athletic trainer at Portage Northern High School from 2008-2010, where he oversaw all sports and helped to continue and develop the school’s concussion protocol using ImPact.
Prior to arriving at Albion, Lawrence worked at Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association member Trine University, where he was an assistant athletic trainer from 2010 until the winter of 2013. He was elevated to head athletic trainer in 2013 while overseeing the volleyball, cross country, wrestling, track and field, and tennis teams. He traveled with the wrestling team to the Division III NCAA National Championships during his time at Trine.
He is certified in the Graston Technique and by the Titleist Performance Institute.
A native of Battle Creek, Lawrence loves to play ice hockey and golf. Andy and his wife, Anna Stinson, live in Marshall with their goofy lab, Kova.
