ALBION – Albion College pushed a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival to five sets for the first time this season Wednesday, but the final result remained the same.  Lydia Drikakis produced three of her 15 kills in a five-point rally to lead Olivet College to a 25-22, 15-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-9 victory over the Britons.

Drikakis' attack error forged a 7-7 tie in the fifth set. Tina Westendorp and Stefanie Lang also produced kills as Olivet built a 12-7 lead.

Albion's best scoring run of the night came early in the second set as Kristin Yeager served up three aces as the Britons sprinted out to a 6-0 lead. Kayela Gilbert served up an ace as Albion extended the margin to 20-9.

The third ser got away from Albion early as Olivet used a six-point run to achieve a 9-4 lead.

Albion trailed 21-16 in the fourth, but three Olivet attack errors, a Gilbert ace, and a Yeager kill forged a tie at 21. Jalyn Ingalls pounded two kills and Lauren DeLuyck added a solo block as Albion scored the final four points of the set.

Ingalls finished with a triple-double of 15 kills, 18 assists, and 14 digs. She also knocked down a solo and two block assists. Halle Thom chipped in with 10 kills, and Gilbert, Yeager, and Haley Gitre served up three aces apiece.

Olivet's Emma Brann led all players with 20 kills and Lang added 12 kills.

Albion has two matches remaining in the 2012 season, a Friday contest at Alma College and a 3 p.m. home date with Calvin College.
