Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Albion College men's soccer team sought a point on the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association ledger as it completed the first round of league play at Adrian College.
Despite holding a 12-4 advantage in shots – including a 6-4 edge in shots on goal – Albion came away empty with a 1-0 setback. Ryan McCarthy scored for Adrian 12 minutes into the second half.
Albion goalkeeper Mike Crinon stopped the first three shots he faced, including a penalty kick in the first half.
Albion pressed for the equalizer, but Adrian goalkeeper Niko Giantsopoulous stopped shots by Kurt Miller, Destin Simon, and Mike Tolkacz in the final two minutes.
Kyle Alsheskie placed three of his four shots on goal.
Albion begins the second half of the MIAA season Wednesday at Alma College.
