Box Score WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Albion College had trouble getting the ball to its attackers, and despite 15 saves by Kyle Formanczyk (Chesterfield/L'Anse Creuse North), the Britons suffered a 7-4 setback at Otterbein University.
The Britons were successful on 19 of 36 clearing opportunities and they won 5 of the 15 face-offs. Albion also did not take advantage of its extra man opportunities, going 0 for 5.
Otterbein finished the first quarter with a 10-2 edge in shots and unassisted goals by Mikey O'Neal and Andrew Donatelli staked the Cardinals to a 2-0 lead. Donatelli and O'Neal assisted on second quarter goals by Pat Teynor and Mike Dattolo. Otterbein extended the lead to 5-0 as O'Neal scored nearly four minutes into the third quarter.
Albion rallied to score the next three goals as Matt Lask (Chesterfield/L'Anse Creuse North), Stephen Treppa (Clinton Township/L'Anse Creuse), and Dan Genord (Ann Arbor/Gabriel Richard). O'Neal stopped the Albion rally as he assisted goals by Drew Watson and Eric Garris. Tim Urso (Novi/Detroit Catholic Central) completed the scoring with 1:03 left.
Albion returns to Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium for weekend matches against the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Hanover College.
