Genord Scores Two Goals in Men's Lacrosse Contest

Box Score

ALBION, Mich. – Tyler Kilpatrick (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) and Tim Urso (Novi/Detroit Catholic Central) scored second half goals to pull Albion College within a goal, but Trine University went on a fourth-quarter scoring binge to send the Britons to a 12-4 setback in Midwest Lacrosse Conference action at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.

Trine scored six of the final seven goals in the final 5 ½ minutes of the contest.

"We started to take chances to get the ball back which resulted in Trine goals for the most part," Albion Coach Jake DeCola said. "We just could not finish our opportunities enough and we had some great ones that should have resulted in goals and perhaps a different outcome. Joel Hedemark (Chesterfield/L'Anse Creuse North) played well as he captained the offense from attack. Jamie Kehoe (Clinton Township/De La Salle), and Tim Urso ran up and down all day in the midfield, and I think their effort eventually led to tired legs late in the game."

Albion never led in the contest, but Dan Genord (Ann Arbor/Gabriel Richard) produced two goals as the Britons trailed 3-2 six minutes into the second quarter. Dalton Madsen scored the first of his three goals on the day with 4:09 remaining in the first half as Trine took a 4-2 lead to halftime.

Blaine Stahley, who produced four goals for Trine, scored 3:15 into the third quarter as Trine extended the margin to 5-2.

Albion hits the road Saturday for a MLC match at the College of Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati. Ohio.
