ALMA, Mich. – Lauren Outwater picked up seven kills in Albion College's 25-16, 26-24, 25-21 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Alma College.

Albion spotted Alma a 6-0 lead in the second set, but the Britons forged a tie at 12. Hitting errors by Alma's Laura Walker on consecutive points put Albion in front, 17-14. Albion's 20-19 lead was erased as Lea Klooster produced a kill and a service ace for the Scots. A block by Rebecca Trosper and an ace by Mary Dulzo gave Alma a 23-21 lead, and while the score was tied at 24, the Scots never surrendered the lead.

Kristin Yeager served up aces on the first two points of the third set. An Outwater kill and a pair of Alma errors boosted the Albion lead to 5-1. Albion led 16-8 when Trosper and Hannah Guilford sparked an Alma on a 12-2 run.

Jalyn Ingalls produced four kills and two aces for Albion. Stephanie Thurner and Halle Thom also finished with four kills.

Klooster led all players with 10 kills.

Albion returns home at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to challenge Olivet College.
