KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Albion College failed to win the critical points Thursday and that allowed Kalamazoo College to sweep the Britons (25-23, 25-20, 30-28) in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association volleyball action.

Three Albion attack errors sparked a four-point run as Kalamazoo turned a 19-18 deficit into a 22-19 lead late in the first set. A service error produced a side out for Albion and a Kalamazoo attack error pulled the Britons to within a point at 22-21, but a pair of Albion attack errors pushed Kalamazoo to set point.

Halle Thom produced one of her team-high 11 kills as Albion trailed by a point, 16-15, in the second set. Kills by Kaela Van Til and Olivia Cares put Kalamazoo up by three and the Hornets maintained at least a two-point lead for the remainder of the set.

Kalamazoo led the third set 13-7, but Erin Romph served up a pair of aces and Lauren Outwater produced two kills as the Britons rallied to cut the deficit to 13-12. Albion forged a tie at 18 as Caitlin McClorey and Thom produced kills and Kalamazoo committed an attack error. Albion reached set point on an Outwater kill, but the Britons could not get the side out to extend the match.

Albion hit -.057 in the first set, but it improved to .240 with 17 kills in the third. McClorey and Outwater finished with eight kills apiece.

Van Til led all players with 12 kills.
