Box Score ALBION, Mich. – Seniors Kyle Alsheskie and Mike Tolkacz scored the goals and junior goalkeeper Andrew Bobowski collected three saves as Albion College gained a much-needed victory with a 2-0 result over Adrian College.
Albion snapped a two-game skid and, at 3-2 against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals, could be in third place in the league standings at the end of the day. The Britons came into the day locked in a three-way tie for third, but Alma College absorbed a 1-0 setback to Kalamazoo College and Olivet College plays under the lights at Hope College.
Alsheskie tallied his team-best eighth goal of the season in the 29th minute. Steven Lockhart sent a nifty pass up the middle of the field to Alsheskie for the assist.
Tolkacz pounced on a turnover by the Adrian back line for his second goal of the season.
Albion, 5-5 overall, will play at home again Saturday at 2:30 against Calvin College.
