Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Albion College pressed for the equalizer Wednesday as it tried to stay alive in the hunt for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament berth.
Despite seven shots in the second half, Albion was unable to score in a 1-0 loss to Calvin College. The loss means Albion (7-11 overall and 5-8 against league rivals) will complete the season at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with a home date against Trine University.
Travis Vegter scored the only goal. He accepted a pass from Stephan Hooker and buried the shot in the 25th minute for his 21st goal of the season.
Seniors Kyle Alsheskie and Mike Tolkacz placed shots on goal in the second half for Albion. Evan Schweizer had Albion's shot in the first half.
