HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Albion College won a couple of close doubles matches and it rode that momentum to a 9-0 victory over Catholic University.
Eric Guindi and Jonathan Gurnee pulled out a 9-7 victory at No. 1 doubles, and Ross Kynast and David Richter were 8-5 winners at No. 2.
Albon won five of the six singles contests in straight sets. Guindi was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at the top of the lineup, and Gurnee didn't lose game in winning the No. 2 match. Richter, Kynast and Zach McKenzie also won their matches in straight sets.
Albion, winners of two of three spring brerak matches, improved to 4-5 overall. The Britons have a week off before a March 22 non-league match against St. Francis, Ind.
