Albion Caps Successful Run In Flighted Tournament

HOLLAND, Mich. – Eric Guindi and Jonathan Gurnee won the 'A' doubles flight and Guindi and David Richter finished runner-up in their respective singles flights as Albion College student-athletes capped a successful run in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Flighted Tournament.

Guindi and Gurnee pulled out a tie-breaker over Adrian's team in the doubles championship match.

In singles, Guindi was up a set when his opponent retired in the semifinals. Guindi and Hope's Parker Bussies split the first two sets of the championship contest, but Bussies won the super breaker, 10-4, to take the match. Richter, playing in the 'B' singles flight, scored a relatively easy 6-4, 6-2 win over Alma's Bryan Schutte in the semifinals before losing 4-6, 6-2, 10-1 to Kalamazoo's Eric De Witt in the final.
