ALBION, Mich. – Cameron Braun scored his second extra-man goal of the day with 6:34 left in regulation to lift Albion College to a 10-9 victory over Otterbein University in non-league men's lacrosse action at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.

Connor Baak scored three times as Otterbein held an 8-6 lead with three minutes left in the third quarter, but Albion turned the tide of the game by winning two of the last four face-offs of the quarter and the Britons forced turnovers on the possessions won by the Cardinals. Albion went on to win all three face-offs in the fourth quarter.

"We were 9-of-21 on face-offs today, but we had well timed face-off wins," DeCola said. "We found our rhythm at the right time and it helped us carry the flow of the game."

Tim Urso scored twice and he assisted on Braun's extra-man goal as Albion scored three goals in a span of 1:44 to seize a 9-8 lead late in the third quarter.

Braun's fourth-quarter score put the Britons in front, 10-8. Otterbein's Nick Tholt produced the final tally of the day with 3:57 left.

Albion trailed 3-1 at the end of the first quarter, but Alexander Dziewit produced all three of his goals as the Britons forged a 6-4 lead midway through the second. Dziewit also tacked on two assists.

"When Alexander is producing three goals and two assists and taking 16 shots, it's hard to be anything but confident," DeCola said.

Briton goalkeeper Kyle Formanczyk collected four of his 13 saves in the fourth quarter.

"The defense left Kyle out too much but he got the job done," DeCola said.

Albion, 4-1 overall, will play its next two contests on the road, starting with a Tuesday date at Wittenberg University.
