ALBION, Mich. – Albion College split the singles matches with Calvin College Saturday afternoon, but it could not make up the deficit after doubles in a 6-3 loss to the Knights.

Ross Kynast (No. 1), Zach McKenzie (No. 2) and Troy Pozolo (No. 4) won singles matches for the Britons. Pozolo won in straight sets (6-3, 6-2), while Kynast rallied after losing the first set (3-6, 6-1, 6-2) and McKenzie split the first two sets with his rival (6-4, 4-6, 7-5).

Albion's best chance for a point in doubles was the No. 3 match. McKenzie and Andrew Zimmer were defeated, 8-6.

Albion will take a break from its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule for a Sunday home match against Augustana College.
