Box Score OLIVET, Mich. – Albion College scored the last four goals of the night to pull away for a 17-9 victory over Olivet College in Wednesday night Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's lacrosse action.
Albion led most of the way. Zach Hubbell, Tim Urso, and Zach Hubbell scored unassisted goals as the Britons seized a 3-1 lead midway through the first quarter.
Joel Hedemark tacked on three unassisted goals and Dominic Hamper added a goal and two assists as Albion scored eight times over a 12-minute stretch to pull away for an 11-2 lead.
Olivet answered with three goals in 1 ½ minutes to trim the Albion lead to 11-5 at halftime.
The Comets got within four, 12-8, late in the third quarter, but that's when Albion pulled away for good. Cameron Braun assisted on Albion's 13th goal and scored the 14th and Alexander Dziewit produced the final three tallies of the night.
The Britons were rewarded for a strong defensive effort with 50 ground balls. Kyle DeCamp scooped up 15 and Joe Silvestri picked up six. Goalkeeper Kyle Formanczyk collected 11 saves.
Next up for Albion is a 12 p.m. Saturday home date against Calvin College.
