Box Score 2 WOOSTER, Ohio – Albion College defeated Capital University in four sets (25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 25-17) and swept Oberlin College (25-20, 25-11. 25-12) to complete its weekend trip to the College of Wooster Invitational with a 4-0 record.
"We had an impressive weekend," Albion coach Kristin de St. Aubin said. "We have been working very hard to take care of the little things in practice and I think the outcome speaks for itself. I'm very proud of how we are growing as a team and continuing the challenge each other every day to be better."
Taylor Rosenthal, who was placed on the all-tournament team, collected 25 kills (14 against Capital, 11 against Oberlin). Stephanie Thurner and Halle Thom added 14 and 13 kills, respectively, in the victory over Capital.
Monica Shuk led the defense with 24 digs on the day (13 against Capital, 11 against Oberlin).
"Ami Milligan did a great job of distributing the offense and took control of the matches," de St. Aubin added. "Rosenthal made the all-tournament team, Lauren Outwater had a great weekend and we had great defensive production from Shuk, Angela Adams and Kristin Yeager."
Albion, now 10-3 overall, returns to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action with a Tuesday night match at Calvin College.
